White-chinned Thrush

White-chinned thrush are dark grey birds with orange beak and feet of the Jamaican forests where they are endemic. Their chest and belly areas are of a relatively lighter grey tone and along with its characteristically white chin patch, it also as a single short strip of white patch in the centre of each wing. Locally referred to as chick-man-chick because of the sound they often make when they fly off, especially when startled. They frequent coffee walks where you might come across them foraging. But while they are not the most timid of birds, they usually don’t stick around for long to find out what you are up to. This might be a good idea on the bird’s part because human interaction often times turn out to be detrimental to creatures of the wild.
